Outline

To encourage students and young engineer & researchers from all disciplines engage in design solutions to real-world problems, the Innovative Design Contest 2018 (IDC 2018) will be held as a special session under International Conference on Innovation and Management (ICIM 2018) in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi, Japan.
The theme of IDC 2018 is “Social Innovation” focuses on inter-disciplinary contributions for the solutions of real and social needs. The final solution can be an innovative product, business, or well-planned product service systems (PSS). All results are judged based on the ability to create new social value as well as their potential in developing a new market segment. IDC2018 participants in the past have shown great appreciation on the diverse and creative ideas throughout the events and conference organizers are also expecting fruitful discussions for the IDC family.

Eligibility and Scope

All registered graduate or undergraduate students, young researchers and young engineers are eligible to participate. Both individual and group project are welcome. An individual may participate in several entries provided each submission is on a different subject.

Paper submission deadline	1st(Mon) October, 2018
Poster submission deadline	It is not necessary to submit your poster before the conference. Please bring it to conference venue by yourself.

Regstration fee	JPY 3,000	It is only available for IDC2018. The participant who want to join to both of IDC2018 and ICIM2018 must register and pay a registration fee for ICIM2018.

Paper Submittion (IDC2018)	All teams are required to register before the deadline with the project topics and team members. Each team needs to have at least one member presenting at IDC2018.

Competition
Judging	The final results are judged by a committee of experts from both academia and the industry based on a five-minute on-site oral presentation and half-day poster sessions. Prototype of the proposed ideas are recommended as on-site demonstrations.
Awards	Award certificates and other prizes will be presented at the conference. The prizes will be distributed among the winners in each team. All participants of IDC2018 will receive a recognition from the ICIM 2018 and IDC2018 committee.
Registration	All teams are required to register before the deadline with the project topics and team members. Each team needs to have at least one member presenting at IDC2018. Registration fee for IDC2018 is limited to join in only IDC2018. Everyone who will join in ICIM2018 have to register as a ICIM2018 participant.
